Accessing the password-protected sections

The Share Your News and Your Northwestern sections of the website are filled with personal information, so you must log in to see this content. You can only log in with your NetID, which must first be activated. NetID activation is open to all admitted students, whether or not you intend to enroll. Activation involves two steps:

  1. You will find your unique, confidential NetID credentials in an online form accessible via the admissions Application Status Portal. Note that this form will only display once you have checked your decision (within an hour). 
  2. To activate your NetID and your Northwestern email account, go to northwestern.edu/login, enter your NetID and activation code, and follow the prompts. (Be sure to use lowercase letters when entering your NetID.) You will be asked to create security questions that will help you access your account if you forget your password.

Sending an ecard

When sending an ecard from our Spread the Word page, be sure to enter a valid email address and send your card to only one recipient at a time. You can send a total of five ecards. 

If your recipient does not see your ecard, he or she should check to make sure it wasn't incorrectly sent to his or her trash, spam and/or junk mail folder. The ecard should have been sent from "Your Name via Northwestern University."
