Visit Campus

Take a self-guided tour

This spring all of our admitted student programming remains online. However, if you do find yourself in the Evanston area, you are welcome to explore campus on your own provided you follow all local, state and University policies. Use our self-guided tour of campus with a broad range of student stories.  And be sure to stop by the hospitality area in our Segal Visitors Center exterior vestibule, where you’ll find masks, hand sanitizer and the perfect backdrop for your first campus selfie as a newly admitted student!

Please note: March 29 through April 5 will be a Wildcat Wellness period on campus, during which all students, faculty, and staff returning from spring break participate in a period of required Covid-19 testing and modified quarantine, refraining from most in-person activities. If you are on campus during this time, please respect this safety measure and do not expect to meet with any students or faculty, even in a socially distanced manner.

Plan your visit

Use the admissions website to find directions and suggestions for visiting Evanston and Chicago. There are a number of hotel options in Evanston, and campus is easily accessible from Chicago hotels, too.

Again, please travel safely and follow all health precautions. Chicago currently has a set of travel restrictions in place for those arriving from out of state. Evanston Coronavirus information can be found on the City of Evanston website. As for Northwestern’s campus, visitors are welcome to enjoy outdoor public spaces. Members of the general public and visitors entering indoor spaces for durations less than 30 minutes for purposes such as food and retail purchases are welcome on our campuses without prior approval or registration. Read more about visitor expectations during Covid-19 by visiting the Covid-19 and Campus Updates website.
