Submit Official Test Scores
By June 1, if you included SAT or ACT scores as part of your application, confirm that Northwestern has received official scores to match your highest self-reported section scores. Your official standardized test scores are required in order for you to attend orientation, move into campus housing and register for classes. You can check to see which standardized test scores we have received via your Applicant Status Portal. First-year students
Your high school must submit your final transcripts as soon as they become available, but no later
than August 1. Your high school can submit your final transcript online through the Common Application website using its Final Report form or the Coalition with Scoir Application website until July 1. Your high school can also mail official transcripts directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admission or email them to ug-admission@northwestern.edu.
Transfer students
If you have not already done so, please arrange to have the final transcript from your current college sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admission as soon as possible, and no later than July 1. The transcript must include final grades for all completed and pending coursework you presented in your application.
Submit Disciplinary Disclosure Form
Northwestern requires incoming undergraduates to disclose criminal history and certain school disciplinary violations. Enrolling students will need to submit the disciplinary disclosure form by June 1 via the Applicant Status Portal. This form will be required for you to attend orientation, move into your residence hall, and register for classes.
Admission Withdrawal
If we do not receive your transcripts before fall move-in, disciplinary disclosure form, and, for students who included SAT or ACT scores in their application, official test scores by the start of classes—or if your high school academic performance falters seriously, as indicated in your final transcript— your admission offer may be withdrawn. Northwestern also reserves the right to take that action if it receives information that, in its judgment, reflects significantly on your character or your fitness for study or participation in the Northwestern community.
Additional Requests
Deferral of enrollment
Admission is offered with the understanding that you will enroll in the academic year for which you applied. However, we recognize that circumstances may arise that present a unique opportunity or personal obligation that postpones enrollment. Requests for enrollment deferral require approval by the Director of Undergraduate Admission and are generally approved for one year only. Note: transfer students may not request a deferral of enrollment.
To request an enrollment deferral, you must first confirm your enrollment. Once confirmed, you will be able to view and access a form to request a deferral on your Applicant Status Portal. Proposals for deferred enrollment are due by June 1.
Changes to your high school course schedule
Any changes to your course schedule must be approved by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Submit requests to ug-admission@northwestern.edu or to your regional admission director.
Undergraduate school change
Requests for a school change require approval by the Director of Undergraduate Admission. Each request is considered individually and is contingent upon the space available in each school. To request a school change, you must first confirm your enrollment. Once confirmed, you will be able to view and access a form to request a school change on your Applicant Status Portal.
Note: Preliminary credit evaluations only pertain to the undergraduate program(s) indicated on the initial offer of admission; an undergraduate school change may change the details of your credit transfer. Students should consult the undergraduate deans office as appropriate.
